Boston, Massachusetts: Grove Hall resident, Natalie Carithers is entering the race for the Boston City Council District 7 seat. A former legislative aide of retiring State Representative Willie Mae Allen, Natalie diligently worked with constituent issues and researched policies that directly impact minority communities. Ms. Carithers, a radio personality on TOUCH106.1 FM radio, has taken a hiatus from the radio station to pursue her race for the District 7 seat. She is an advocate for CORI Reform, jobs creation, education, foreclosure prevention and elder affairs. Her knowledge of community issues comes from first hand experience as well as her attendance at meetings, rallies and other events that promote effective change in these areas as well as community violence, problem properties and improving and sustaining the economic status of District 7. Currently, Natalie is working with the Pipeline for Change, a new organization of women that promotes and encourages women of color to run for political office.
